From Microscope to Microphone

After spending years at UC Berkeley in the wet lab, Jon came to easily recognize how his lab's research slowed down or completely stalled if there wasn't access to laboratory equipment, well-maintained or not.

With this bottleneck in mind, he began brainstorming with friend and soon-to-be co-founder about some possible solutions for researchers. The lack of access to mission-critical instrumentation he experienced early eventually led to Excedr's founding, the lab equipment leasing company Jon has been running for more than a decade.

Jon's goal has always been creating a different way for scientists to get the equipment they need without breaking the bank, and a continuing mission of his is to support the innovative and life-changing work that the scientific community conducts.

He aims to accomplish the same things with The Biotech Startups Podcast.
